A ignorância de proposições lotéricas e algumas importantes implicações

This essay aims to solve two paradoxes that share the use of negative lottery propositions. The first has been called “the lottery paradox” and the second, let's call it here, “the lottery proposition paradox”. Regarding the first one, we want to show that Harman's solution line is feasible if we adopt the devices suggested here. Regarding the second, we want to show that its resolution is based on the adoption of two theses: (1) negative lottery propositions are unknowable only if they are believed solely on the basis of inductive statistical inference and (2) even if an agent has a mode of belief generation other than inductive statistical inference to believe negative lottery propositions, the world in which he and the lottery find their place must be epistemologically propitious in order for him to know them.
