The present study presents the possibility versus the desirability of the absolute meaning of Human Rights in Norberto Bobbio. Without intending to exhaust the subject, the aim is to present, in as much detail as possible, the complexity of human rights through Bobbio's philosophy. The study explores three main questions: the problematic nature of an absolute foundation for human rights; the possibility and desirability of such an absolute foundation, with the aim of extracting a concept of Human Rights following Bobbio's reasoning. The results indicate that these rights are complex and that, as desirable as an absolute foundation may be, it is impossible, considering the diversity of cultures and customs of the signatory countries.
