The article examines the theoretical convergences and divergences in the Correspondence between Walter Benjamin and Theodor Adorno, namely the idea of a common intellectual project, as well as the development by each of the authors of their own conceptions of critique, materialism and dialectics. In this context it is of particular interest the debates on Benjamin’s Arcade Project and the affiliation of both authors to the Institute for Social Research chaired by Max Horkheimer
