I offer here a translation into Portuguese of De genitura of the Hippocratic Collection, the first part of De genitura/De natura Pueri, which is the first text the tradition transmitted entirely about the origin of the semen and embryology. The translation is introduced by a brief description of the author and the text and accompanied by footnotes which are intended to clarify the text and the context.
