I offer here a translation into Portuguese of 'De genitura' of the 'Hippocratic Collection', the first part of 'De genitura/De natura pueri', which is the first text the tradition transmitted entirely about the origin of the semen and embryology. The translation is introduced by a brief description of the author and the text, and accompanied by footnotes which are intended to clarify the text and the context.
