Experiência e adequação: a noção de ‘conscientia’ no Apêndice da primeira parte da Ética de Espinosa

This paper examines the notion of conscientia in the Appendix to the first part of Spinoza's Ethics, exploring its relationship with experience and the adequacy of ideas. The analysis of Spinoza's use of conscientia reveals a paradigm of the inadequate idea, which, although a confused perception, possesses a positive aspect that contributes to understanding the genesis of adequate knowledge. Additionally, the article demonstrates how Spinoza employs experience as a methodological tool to guide the adequacy of ideas. Ultimately, the study suggests that the interplay between experience and demonstration plays a decisive role in the formation of true knowledge.
