Hélio Oiticica: invenção como instauração

The invention of Oiticica can be understood as an establishment. To establish is not to create or to produce; to establish is a process that mobilizes an operation that inscribes a world. The establishment inscribes a "formality" in which beings, existences and processes acquire at the same time structure, extension and consistency. In Oiticica's in progress program, cascading propositions acquire the solidity of a lucid, coherent and consequent program, composing what he termed "the great world of invention".
