Montaigne e a utilidade dos saberes

In the Essais, from the criticism of liberal studies and science, are mobilized arguments about the usefulness of knowledge. Montaigne points out that the usefulness of knowledge lies in the reflective exercise that promotes ethical, hence the critical setback also extend to the moral failings of the philosophy of eschole. The “true philosophy”, accessible when the montaignian way, assumes the highest priority and useful for providing subsidies to morality. Abdicating of normative prescriptions, the philosophical inquiry on the ethics engenders wisdom towards right living. Is this reflective and practical gain that introduces the “true philosophy” as a formation of a conduct and the judgment.
