Platão é entediante.: Algumas observações sobre uma passagem de Crepúsculo dos Ídolos

The paper aims to elucidate an enigmatic excerpt of Nietzsche's Twilight of the Idols in which Plato is characterized Plato as boring. In order to reach this goal the article addresses the issue of boredom both in other works of Nietzsche and in the historical-cultural context of his time. From this broader perspective the concept of boredom appears in its articulation with the issue of style, in particular with what Nietzsche called the "style of décadence", as well as with the dominant conception of philosophy in our culture since Plato, that is, the one which favors the "ideals." Although Nietzsche criticizes Plato severely in the Twilight of the Idols, the paper sustains that he also appreciates the erotic impulse that characterizes the Platonic philosophy.
