This article aims to approximate the protofeminist ideas developed by the French philosopher and theologian François Poulain de la Barre (1647-1723) to the writing strategies formulated by sixteenth-century authors of the so-called littérature précieuse, such as Madeleine de Scudéry (1607-1701) and Madame de Lafayette (1634-1693). To this extent, it criticizes the division proposed by Elsa Dorlin (1974-) between logical feminism and préciosité in two ways: through a broader reflection on the limits of the separation between philosophy and literature and, secondly, through a direct analysis of Poulain's arguments. Thus, it seeks to demonstrate the possible association between the creation of a fabricated order as a legitimate philosophical procedure and the use of imagination as a model for literary production.
