I propose in this article to analyze the idea of technique developed by Walter Benjamin in the second version of “The Work of Art in the Age of Mechanical Reproduction”, essay in which the author carefully examines the aesthetic and political possibilities opened by the invention of cinema. This route allows the philosopher more explicitly to consider a double concept of technique which I will discuss by means of its conection to a historical-anthropological reflection on the concept of mimesis, defended by Miriam Hansen on her article “Benjamin, Cinema, and Experience: The Blue Flower in the land of technology”.
