TEMPORALIDADE E METAFÍSICA EM MATÉRIA E MEMÓRIA, DE HENRI BERGSON

This article aims to develop the temporal relationship between body and spirit presented by Bergson in Matéria e memoria, and the way in which this relationship presupposes a critique of homogeneous space. From that, we focus on the definition of the present as the materiality of perception, its irreducible aspect and its consequences for a theory of the planes of consciousness, for which the present is always the last plane of a psychic totality. We aim to understand how the temporal terms of this psychology are the condition for a theory of knowledge that does not separate consciousness from external reality. For this reason, the internal link between psychology, metaphysics and theory of knowledge in Bergson is explored. Finally, it will be seen how metaphysics arises from a question posed for pragmatic purpose.
