This article explores the rhetorical experience of reading through the relationship between aesthetics and theology in the writings of Walter Benjamin. For this task, using an expository approach, the article analyses discursive moments in which the author develops boundary concepts conceived at the intersection of the aesthetic and the theological, such as: language conceived in the art of translation; allegory in the context of writing and citation; rhyme, caesura and the pure word in relation to the unconditional dimension of enunciation. These boundary concepts constitute specific variations of the rhetorical experience of reading.
