A DIGESTÃO E A REPRODUÇÃO DO CENTAURO:: O A PRIORI HISTÓRICO EM FOUCAULT

The following article aims to investigate the category of historical a priori in the thought of the French philosopher Michel Foucault. We intend to show that there is a epistemological system underlying Foucault’s archaeological activity. We show that Foucault, inspired by Nietzsche, understand ideas as historical facts, discursive events. Then we argue that the manifestation of these discursive events depend on historical conditions of possibility (the éphisteme). We suggest that Foucault’s historical a priori resembles Heidegger’s Ereignis and Wittgenstein’s Language Games: it’s truth games, rules for the entity arises qua entity in the subject’s perception. The historical a priori defi nes the mobile boundaries between true and false knowledge based on power relations.
