A EXPANSÃO DA RIQUEZA MONETÁRIA, A CRISE DOS VALORES E AS MUDANÇAS NA ORDEM POLÍTICA E SOCIAL NA GRÉCIA ANTIGA

RESUMO: com o surgimento da moeda metálica houve uma expansão da riqueza monetária, e, consequentemente, a ascensão de uma nova classe enriquecida pelo comércio. Isso acarretou uma série de transformações na ordem política e social, assim como uma crise dos valores. Essa nova classe de enriquecidos reivindica sua participação no poder político e na obtenção de cargos, acarretando a preocupação e o desprezo dos aristocratas, a antiga classe que passa a disputar poder e prestígio com a nova classe dos ricos em ascendência. É também neste contexto que surgem os escritos que refletem sobre as mudanças ocorridas na sociedade decorrentes da transformação econômica operada por causa do surgimento da moeda. A proposta deste artigo é analisar alguns desses escritos que promovem uma reflexão sobre as consequências da expansão da riqueza monetária, sobretudo sobre a crise dos valores, e das mudanças na ordem política e social.PALAVRAS-CHAVE: Economia. Ética. Grécia antiga. Política. Riqueza. ABSTRACT: with the emergence of the coin there was an expansion of monetary wealth, and consequently, the rise of a new class enriched by trade. This led to a series of transformations in the political and social order, as well as a crisis of values. This new class of enriched claims its share in political power and obtaining positions, leading to concern and contempt of the aristocrats, the old class that comes to dispute power and prestige with the new class of the ascendant rich. It is also in this context that arise writings reflecting on the changes in the society of economic transformation operated because of the rise of the currency. The purpose of this paper is to analyze some of these writings that promote a reflection on the consequences of the expansion of monetary wealth, above all about the crisis of values, and changes in political and social order.KEYWORDS: Ancient Greece.
