A PENÚRIA DAS PALAVRAS: SPINOZA E A LINGUAGEM

The radical critique of language made by Spinoza, which insists in its necessary potential for forgery, seems to equate him to his contemporaries. More than that, it seems to put an insoluble problem to the possibility of the unambiguous communication of the truth – including the expression of his own philosophy. In this article, I try to acknowledge this critique and propose an alternative to the imaginative character of words, investing in the distinction between language and method. This interpretation will allow us to reconsider the spinozist position and maintain its originality in the face of other conceptions of his historical period.
