A permanência da filosofia na obra adorniana. Um estudo sobre o significado da filosofia após a sua não realização

Many times in his work, Theodor W. Adorno has questioned if philosophy hadn’t become obsolete with the scientific development and, if the answer to that were negative, which function would it have in the contemporary world, where particular sciences have taken over the contents that were previously detained by philosophy. In this paper, I start with an analysis of the texts “The actuality of philosophy”, “Why still philosophy” and of the book Negative Dialectics to pinpoint what Adorno considered to be the adequate philosophy for our times, namely, the critical theory of society.
