In this paper I analyze Alasdair Maclntyre's moral philosophy, who has supported the recovery of Aristotelian virtue ethics as the best solution for the problems of contemporary moral practice and theory, in order to show how he articulates rationality and historicity in a cultural landscape where ethics is seen as irrational, i.e., his strategy to account the rationality of ethical theories by an historical approach to the question but without falling in either a historicist or a relativist point of view. I appeal for T. Kuhn's philosophy of science as fundamental source to help us to understand Maclntyre's point of view concerning that question.
