This work is framed in discussions about the status and characteristics of emotions linked to aesthetic experiences in fictional contexts. It offers a reading from the perspective of Jean Marie Schaeffer. She rejects the idea that emotions in fictional contexts are only quasi or pseudo-emotions or simulated or feigned emotions. Likewise, one of the meanings that the term “fictionalize” acquires for that author is questioned. Lastly, the supposed depragmatization of the consequences for an active life that emotions linked to aesthetic experiences would have is discussed.
