O momento aristotélico do momento maquiaveliano: Pocock leitor de Maquiavel

This article explores John Pocock’s interpretation of Nicolau Maquiavel’s republicanism. There are two main arguments here. First, I show that if, on the one hand, Maquiavel recovers the Aristotelian ideal of the human as a political animal, on the other, he does it with a weakened version, insofar as radically impacted by the contingent nature of human things. Secondly, this opens the way for not only an ethics based on politics (instead of on philosophy, as Aristotle wished), but also for a republicanism of more popular connotations.
