O PROBLEMA DA MENTE NO DE TRINITATE: QUIS ES TU? QUAESTIO FACTUS SUM (CONF. X, 33, 50)

Este artigo tem como objetivo analisar os conceitos que Agostinho mobiliza no De Trinitate, bem como abordar os argumentos apresentados para justificar a natureza da mente (mens). Ademais, sustentamos que, nesta obra, o autoconhecimento funciona como fundamento epistemológico suficiente para a defesa da incorporeidade da mente. Nesse contexto, examinamos as questões que se inserem a respeito da memória e da vontade como estruturas constitutivas da mente. Portanto, ao final do artigo, pretendemos reiterar a relevância do pensamento agostiniano para o debate sobre problemas tão atuais quanto aqueles levantados pela filosofia da mente. Palavras-chave: Agostinho; autoconhecimento; De Trinitate; mente; filosofia.   Abstract This paper aims to analyze the concepts mobilized by Augustine in De Trinitate, as well as to address the arguments presented to justify the nature of the mind (mens). Furthermore, I argue that, within this work, self-knowledge functions as a sufficient epistemological foundation for the defense of the mind’s incorporeity. In this context, I examine the roles of memory and will as constitutive structures of the mind. Consequently, the article concludes by reiterating the relevance of Augustinian thought to contemporary debates within the philosophy of mind.
