Pelos caminhos da tradução: por que traduzimos?

This essay, through a philosophical language and perspective, discusses the act of translating, taking into account the question of "why do we translate?" To this end, we seek to employ a more personal style, using the first-person singular, addressing various topics that contribute to our intended objective. Our goal is to always provide the reader with context for our problem, situate them in a practical way, and demonstrate the relevance of the issue. Through these efforts, we hope to at least present a brief overview of important aspects of the translation process, culminating in a discussion of its treatment in Brazil and, more specifically, in the field of philosophy as developed here.
