2009Ronaldo Manzi. Proust à luz de Freud - uma leitura Merleau-Pontyana. Cadernos Espinosanos, n. 20, p. 121-130, 2009.2
I attempt to approach in a short way how Merleau-Ponty, differing from the French tradition, reads Proust in the light of Freud, what allows him to insist on a fundamental problem of his phenomenology: the temporality. To deal with this, I will perform an inquiry of the possible intersection of the case of the phantom limb with the notion of sedimentation described by the philosopher. With this proceeding, we will understand Merleau-Ponty’s appeal to Proust’s written, specially to his concept of “time”. We will realize, however, that this appeal is largely in interface with notions of Freud’s clinic.
