Relato verbal e julgamento da professora sobre o rendimento do aluno: relação com os comportamentos observados em sala de aula

O objetivo deste estudo foi verificar, através de entrevistas semi-estruturadas, a percepção da professora acerca de seus alunos e a relação entre os julgamentos da professora e o comportamento do aluno em sala de aula. Foram observadas quatro salas de aula de duas escolas públicas (duas classes especiais e duas classes regulares), compostas de alunos com atraso em leitura, de 1a série do 1º Grau. Os professores foram solicitados a classificar seus alunos e os sujeitos deste estudo foram retirados dos extremos da classificação: metade dos sujeitos apresentando baixo desempenho acadêmico e metade com bom desempenho, de acordo com a percepção da professora. Os professores e os alunos foram observados através de registro cursivo, em Intervalos de um minuto, durante dez sessões, em média. As professoras foram entrevistadas sobre cada um dos sujeitos e as entrevistas foram gravadas. O comportamento verbal das professoras e das crianças foi também gravado. Os dados foram organizados em classes de comportamento das professoras e dos alunos e em classes de relato verbal das professoras. As comparações desses dados conduziram às seguintes conclusões: (a) as professoras mais freqüentemente relatararn comportamentos orientados para a tarefa escolar. em relação ao aluno com bom desempenho acadêmico: (b) o aluno classificado como tendo baixo desempenho acadêmico foi descrito com mais características pessoais negativas, do que o outro grupo de sujeitos; (c) apenas uma professora demonstrou perceber a freqüência das interações sociais que ocorreram em sala de aula; (d) aparentemente, as professoras fizeram julgamentos sobre seus alunos com base no comportamento real de sala de aula, (e) as características pessoais negativas, atribuídas pelas professoras aos alunos com baixo desempenho académico, não foram um impedimento de maior número de contatos com eles em sala de aula, do que com seus alunos com bom desempenho académico para a maioria das professoras.  Palavras- chave: Relato verbal da professora; Resempenho acadêmico; Julgamento da professora; Observação em sala de aula.   Abstract: The objective of this study was verified, by part structured interviews, the teacher's perception about her students and the relationship between the teacher's judgments and the behavior of the student in the classroom. Were observed four classrooms of two public shcools (two special education and two regular education), composed by delayed  readers students of the first grade. The teachers were asked to classify theirs students and the subjects of this study were selected of the extremes: half of the subjects presenting low academic achievement and half with good academic achievement, according teacher's perception. The teachers and the students were observed by cursive register in Intervals of one minute, during ten sessions, on an average. The teachers were interviewed about each subject, and the interviews were recorded. Teacher's and children's verbal behavior in the classroom was recorded too. The data were organized in bevahior classes of the teachers and the students and in verbal report classes of the teachers. The comparisons of these data conduced to the following conclusions: (a) the teachers more frequently reported behaviors task-orientated, referring to the good academic achievement student; (b) the student classified as a low academic achievement student was described with more negative personal characteristics than the other group of subjects; (c) only one teacher demonstrated to perceive the frequency of social interactions ocurring in the classroom; (d) apparently the teachers made Judgements about thelrs students. supported in this students' actual behavior in the classroom; (e) the negative personal charactenstics attributed by teachers to their low academic achievement students wasn't an impediment for the larger number of contacts with them in the classroom.
