A subject rarely researched in Spinoza’s opera, work is central in his thought on common right. By examining the occurrences of work in the two political treatises, as well as by observing the signification and the correct translation of opera mutua, one aims to shed a new light on history in Spinoza, particularly on the origin of common right and the ideas of justice and unjustice in this author.
