This article seeks to justify, from The Birth of Tragedy, Nietzsche's famous phrase that says: "only as an aesthetic phenomenon can existence and the world be eternally justified". In this sense, we will trace a path with two moments: 1) the exposition of the Apollonian and Dionysian principles as natural impulses creators of tragic art. This first moment brings the importance of understanding the antagonistic and conciliatory movement that involves such principles, as well as demonstrating that the Greeks created tragedy with the objective of enduring the horrors of life; the second moment traces a comparative parameter between the nietzschean concepts of life, art and becoming. With this, we intend to say that life is, for Nietzsche, becoming, and what confirms this proposition is the very way in which Nietzsche sees life: as a struggle between opposing forces, that is: as a will to power. Thus, becoming would also define the movement of art through the alternating dynamics of Apollonian and Dionysian impulses.
