In the field of literature, he exalts the concrete poetry movement. In this sense, the central purpose of this essay is to investigate the theoretical paths that allow Flusser's philosophy of language and the poetic practice of the concretes to be brought closer together, and which made Flusser enthusiastic about these productions of the 1950s and 1960s. For Flusser, this poetry raised new awareness of the visual aspect of the word, began to combine letters with non-letters and reformulated graphic and layout problems. However, when he returned to Europe and evaluated his interlocutions in Brazil, Flusser changed his tune in relation to the movement, especially with regard to the work of Haroldo de Campos, with whom he broke with after translating fragments of Galáxias. Therefore, the final part of this essay indicates some of the reasons for this critical change of perspective. KEYWORDS: Vilém Flusser; Concrete poetry; Language; Engajament; Haroldo de Campos.
